On Friday 27th July I will perform at the Free Church in Hampstead Garden Suburb on their lunchtime recital series. I have performed many times as part of this series and last time was in 2011 when they were celebrating the 100th anniversary.
Hampstead Garden Suburb was my first landing place in London as that’s where my teacher Ben Kaplan used to live and although just a stone’s throw away from where I live now, it’s always a special treat to go back there. It’s such a remarkable and quiet little place in the midst of the busy London and the two churches on the Central Square (St Jude’s and Free Church) enrich the cultural life of the suburb.
The lunchtime series at the Free Church have always had a great audience and I got to meet so many great people there. It is always a great pleasure to talk to your audience after the concert and hear what they thought. I will also play works by Debussy and John Cage whose anniversaries are celebrated this year.
